Kipper owes $20 to the carry over pot

KIP PETERSON WINS SWEATER #32

Kip Peterson played a nearly flawless round on Monday at Seville CC and fought off a spirited effort by "Always in the Money" Dave Berliner to lock up his 3rd Yellow Sweater.

Sophomore Dave started the day four back and had to give Kipper one shot. Dave picked up three on the front nine and took the lead on #10, but Kipper made three birdies over his final eight holes to shoot 75. The shot that won the tournament was Kipper's laser 9 iron to 6 inches on the infamous Par 3 #17 island green. Dave hung in tough and finished with a 75. He tied for second with "H"-chee.

Kris Madsen played his best Sweater in years, shooting a final round 84. The Colonel's effort for a "C"-peat fell short, but a final round 80 moved him into solo fourth (14 shots back).

After a furious start - four time champion Fritzie faded to a fifth place finish. The Tin Man continued his streak of staying out of the AZ Drone Group with a solid 6th overall. JP was unremarkable at 7th. Woodrow received his highest handicap ever, and brought back the echos with a sizzling 75 at Gold Mountain. A late night on Friday doomed him to 8th.

There was no question that the 2010 AZ Drones were Drones. Juan, Tommy and Cuts finished well back of the second group. Kevin was forced to WD due to an ailing back - saving Cuts from King Drone purgatory.

H-chee Rolls at Papago

H-chee continued to build his lead over 27 holes at Papago Saturday. The rain stayed away and H-chee made few mistakes. He now holds a 7.25 stroke lead over Kipper. In third is Sophomore Dave, who couldn't hole a putt in his opening 18. JP was medalist on the first 18 and has sidled into fourth and is only 10.75 back.

Verrado has been an achilles heel for both Kris and Dave, so tomorrow should be full of drama.

The Tin Man is hanging tough and sits in fifth only 11.25 back and will be getting 11.25 shots from the Kris the next two days. If he can beat him straight from here he'll have a good chance to win his second Sweater.

Fritzie got a bit sideways worrying about his kitten Kerry  - but he is within 12 of the lead. Colonel and Wood were up late and their games suffered. They sit 7th and 8th.

The Drones are so far out of contention - it might not be possible for them to play their way even into the second group. Toner, Juan, Kevin and Cuts have been beyond pitiful.

Kris Madsen takes a 3 Stroke Lead

H-chee has given up all of his superstitions and fired a alcohol aided 84. He has the lead by three shots over a trio that includes Sophomore Dave (73), Fritzie (91) and Colonel (84). Five time Champion Woodrow (75) and Kipper (75) are five back.

Fritzie takes the Lead

Fritzie jumped to a 4 shot lead with an effortless 82 proving once again that he can fly below every radar between Detroit Lakes and Scottsdale.

In a quest for a "C" slam - the Colonel made few mistakes en route to an 83.  The Tin Man defied the odds and kept his ball in play, making only two penalty strokes and sits in third. Fourth place is a "happy" H-chee who played average in his "88".

Tommy Two Tone loves his position in 5th. JP did nothing special in his round, but was amazed to be in sixth place.

Stay tuned for updates from the round tomorrow at Gold Canyon.

Spackler Accepts Last Minute Invitation

Kevin "Spackler" Davie will replace Critter in the field for the 2010 Arizona tournament. He was quickly voted a 7.5 - the highest number he has ever been given. Davie finished third in his last appearance in Arizona in 2005 as a 6.6.

Spot Opens up for Sweater

The sudden WD of the "Critter" has opened up a slot for Sweater #32.

The Arizona Republic speculates that potential replacements include Kevin "Spackler" Davie, The "Bulldog" Doug Nauman, low net legend "Wally" Walter Thomas, Grant "Rocky" Matthies or a potential mystery rookie.

It was confirmed that The Doctor has turned down the first offer from tournament directors.

Critter WD's - Cites Wrist and Finger Injuries

Critter officially withdrew today from the 32nd Yellow Sweater.

Kansas City's own two time Sweater champion "Critter" Madsen was injured in a fall at a local gym Tuesday. He reportedly suffered a "potential" fracture of both the wrist and finger, although the extent of the damage is unknown at this point. How Madsen was injured is also a point of speculation.

His WD was a devastating blow to golf fans across the state of Kansas. The agent for Five time Open Champion Tom Watson provided this statement from the Hall of Famer: "We all hope Scott will recover quickly from these injuries and get back on the Sweater tour soon."

Sophomore Dave Honored

Sophomore Dave was named 2010 Man of the Year by PETA

After driving Katie's Lhasa Apso "Oscar" to Denver and back to save the pooch from a week long stay at a kennel while they vacationed in Hawaii, Dave was unanimously chosen as Man of the Year by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Tin Man goes Hollywood

After turning down an offer from NBC's The Biggest Loser, the Tin Man will be a contestant on VH1's hit reality show Celebrity Fit Club this season.

Other contestants include Kevin Federline, Shar Jackson and Bobby Brown.

Critter "Movin on Up"

The National Enquirer reported today that "Critter" phoned his cousin Fritz on February 8th to advise that he would be traveling by "private jet" and will meet the gang on the first tee instead of at Southwest baggage claim.

Messages left on his three cell phones were not returned.

Fritz was prescribed Lithium after Critter then reportedly inquired about a small discount on his share of the gas for their rental car.

Kipper might WD due to Intestinal Distress

Famed gastrointestinal specialist Dr. Selvakumar examined Kip's colon Wednesday and has diagnosed the two time Sweater winner and former Publinks champion with Diverticulitis.

At the post operative press conference Dr. Kumar refused to speculate on a timeframe for Kip's return, but did tell reporters that he would be returning to medical school to become a podiatrist.
